Tamás Gender Junior hopes for a smoother weekend in the WSK Super Master Series

Tamás Gender Junior will compete in the third round of the prestigious WSK Super Master Series this weekend, hoping to make it to the Final in a smoother weekend than the last two.

This weekend the WSK Super Master Series field will visit the idyllic town of Sarno, near Naples, to compete in the third round of this year's prestigious series. The Vesuvius, considered to be one of the most dangerous volcanoes of our time, located around 20 km from Naples and the Circuito Internazionale, which destroyed Pompeii and three other Roman settlements nearly 2,000 years ago, will hopefully be a calm place to watch as Europe's top kart racers battle it out for the first time this month.

The calmness will be important not only for the OKJ-field competitor Tamás Gender Junior, but also because after the trials and tribulations of the last two rounds, the Parolin Racing Kart driver really needs a trouble-free weekend. The 12-year-old's ambition is unchanged: he wants to qualify for Sunday's Final by winning every single battle on the track.

"I've spent the last week and a half preparing physically and mentally, and last week I spent a day and a half testing in Sarno. I am confident about having a good weekend. I know the track well, having raced on it in both the Mini and OK Junior categories. The quality of the asphalt is not the best, it's very bumpy, but I really like it, there are some technical parts. My goal is still to make it to the Final and win as many duels as possible, and after two difficult weekends, I would like to have a smooth and trouble-free race this time," said the HUMDA-supported athlete.

In the OKJ field, 66 drivers are competing in Sarno, fewer than in the previous two rounds of the WSK Super Master Series. The Qualifying session for the category and the first two Heats for each group will be held this Friday, March 3, the other Heats on Saturday, March 4, and the Pre-Finals and Final on Sunday, March 5.
