In every heat, he improved on his grid position, and in the final he managed to hold his position at the second round of this year’s WSK Super Master Series in Sarno, Italy. The driver from VictoryLane Karting once again demonstrated his fighting spirit by battling hard throughout the heats and in the final.
The master of the starts in Sarno was none other than the talented VictoryLane Karting competitor, Gender Tamás Junior. In every race of the second round of the WSK Super Master Series, he got off to an excellent start and continuously gained positions relative to his grid slot—the only exception being the final, where he held his position.
The Sarno circuit holds a special place in the WSK world. In 2022, the track hosted the OK class World Championship, making it a challenge recognized both nationally and internationally.
The circuit also staged a world championship in 2012, this time for the KZ2 category. It was then that Max Verstappen made his debut in a fastest category of karting and was considered a strong contender for victory; however, an accident in the final forced him out. This was the famous race after which his father left the future Formula 1 star at a gas station for a short time.
Currently, Gender Tamás Junior competes in the adult OK category for VictoryLane Karting. While this class doesn’t yet involve gear shifts, the strong field still presents significant challenges. Once again, he had to battle against several children of F1 drivers and other rising talents, but with his excellent starts and nearly continuous position gains on track, Tamás proved his preparedness once more.
"I am delighted that in every heat I managed to achieve a better result than my grid position. Although I couldn’t make further progress in the final, I look back on this race with pride, as the Sarno circuit delivered a fierce battle and really tested our skills. Many thanks to Zele Bau for their support, and to the VictoryLane Karting team, Kart Republic, and IAME for their excellent technical preparation," stated Gender Tamás Junior.
The next challenge is set for February 19–23, 2025, at the world-famous Lonate circuit during the third round of the WSK Super Master Series.
